Gaelic Laboratories is a GMP-approved contract manufacturer of Beta-Lactam (penicillin) products, with state-of-the-art laboratories offering rapid and cost-effective release testing. Our site in Ireland is licenced by the HPRA (Manufacturing Authorisation number M13155/00001) enabling us to provide testing and manufacturing services to markets across the EU, UK and the Middle East & North Africa (MENA).
History
Established in Ireland in April 2022, Gaelic Laboratories operates from a site that was formerly an established FDA-approved manufacturer of Beta-Lactams. Generic medicines have been produced to the highest quality standards at the site for over 40 years.
In December 2025, Gaelic acquired Athlone Laboratories, a like-minded developer and manufacturer of a broad range of oral dose Beta-Lactam products. The resulting partnership represented an important step towards realising Gaelic’s long-term vision of becoming an established leader in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the production and distribution of generic Beta-Lactam medicines.
Manufacture and Packaging
As well as manufacturing our own Beta-Lactam products (sold under the Gaelic Laboratories brand) we offer contract manufacturing and packaging services for a range of Beta-Lactams.
Our state-of-the-art technology and equipment, and our continuing optimisation of Beta-Lactam manufacturing processes, enable us to minimise costs and improve quality so we can offer competitive pricing for the highest-quality products.
Chemical and Analytical Testing
In 2024, we upgraded and expanded our laboratory technology base to deliver technologically advanced full analytical testing and regulatory batch release services.
As well as offering testing services to EU companies, we can provide FG Testing and QP Release services to companies that manufacture outside the EU to sell to the EU market.
Regulatory Expertise
Our people have built a deep understanding of regulatory processes and compliance requirements, which can streamline the drug approval process, enabling faster time to market than our competitors.
Marketing to the UAE
Our commercial arm in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) provides us with an infrastructure that enables us to market our own generic products in the region, and partner with other companies to provide them with access to the Middle East market.
